Wonderful place. A decent trek, with quite an accessible incline to the lookout, with a unique environment of large boulders on the track and in the stream. Going to the top was quite steep but not a problem, some of the steps maybe a bit too thin but I had no issues personally. The top of the falls was stunning; amazing views, very shallow stream so able to wade into the water.
Would definitely go again.
Did this hike today. One of the best and hard hike so far. Never a regret. The top view of the fall was amazing and you’ll see many other small falls along the way to top. Highly recommended.
We did the hike to the scenery deck and it was a lot harder than we thought.
We almost thought the views were on the bridges and were almost disappointed.
But the deck is only after the stairs.
You will know you're almost there when you see the sign showing that the path is splitting.
The views are stunning throughout the walk with little waterfalls along the way.
Would definitely recommend the full walk for those more fit and not just your average Hiker.
Great hike! Went to the top of the falls on a sunny day after a rainy night. The first part to get to the lookout was a bit muddy but not too complicated -if you're careful and have good shoes on- for adults in good health. 45min. Lots of rocks and stairs so I wouldn't take a child under 7.
The second part from the lookout to the top of the falls took us 35 min but it was very very muddy so extra care is required especially near the falls and on the way down. The view is worth it as you see the bay of plenty when it's sunny out. On a cloudy day idk if you see much. There isn't too much of the falls to see, it's more about the view imo.
Nice falls from the lookout, but a little ways away. Very busy trails on this holiday day. Lots of folks coming down when zi was going up. Thankfully, I had the lookout to myself
spectacular view from lookout. yes it was challenging to climb but totally worth the effort once we arrived. small bridges built to cross water ways where you can take instagramable pictures.
Omg this is such an amazing place. Quite a walj but worth the view. So historical with the rocks. All i can say is its such an awesome experience to do and to see that waterfall at the end od your journey is amazing.
Beautiful hike to the top of the falls took a total return trip of 3hrs roughly. Best to get the hike done in the early hours of the morning as you can enjoy the peacefulness of having the site to yourself . Around 10am is when the general public arrive, so it gets slightly crowded.
Overall highly recommend this hike to beginners and first timers as it has a good ratio of problem solving and easy paths along the hike to the top of the falls.
Ps if you see my rocks please take a photo and tag me :3
